The day-to-day work of Stella Kindergarten implements a holistic, innovative educational philosophy on the basis of Christian, specifically Catholic, values. Job title: Kindergarten educator

Job description

You will be responsible for educational and organisational work within our after-school care setting, taking into account the curriculum and educational schemes in progress.

The role

Planning and implementing educational and childcare activities

  • Homework supervision
  • Creative activities (play, crafts, making music, etc.)
  • Leading/supervising physical activities (play, gymnastics, games etc.)
  • Leading/supervising visits to exhibitions and theatre performances
  • Co-creating the educational work in the setting
  • Implementing our educational philosophy and standards
  • Co-organising extracurricular activities
  • Creating a favourable learning environment
  • Individual support for each child as a whole person, in accordance with their strengths

Working in a team:

Coordinating educational work within the setting

Attending staff meetings

Supervising interns/placement students

Continuing professional development:

  • Completing 16 hours of CPD per year
  • Giving feedback to headteacher on desired and completed CPD and training
  • Keeping up to date with current professional literature, journals, etc.

Operational responsibilities (in consultation with the management):

  • Knowledge of the legal framework of your role/acquiring this knowledge from headteacher where required
  • Record keeping as required (visit records, minutes of meetings, master data, etc.)
  • Providing cover for other staff members in cases of illness, annual leave, training

The role
